Who we are

The Heart of Iowa Band is a 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Nonprofit Organization. Please refer to the Giving page (see upper right corner) for donation information.

The Heart of Iowa Band’s mission is to provide:

1. high quality musical entertainment for the senior communities of central Iowa; and

2. opportunities for central Iowa musicians to come together in an enjoyable and cooperative atmosphere to perform concerts for regional nursing homes, retirement communities, veterans’ homes, schools, and civic events.

We’re always looking for new band members. We are based in Ames, but have members from Ames, Nevada, Ankeny, Huxley, Story City, and other communities in central Iowa. If you’re interested in joining the Heart of Iowa Band, please contact Gary Fry, our Band Manager at…
